Welcome to
Woodthorpe Community Football Club (WCFC) was created for the local children of Woodthorpe and surrounding areas. Affiliated by the Nottinghamshire FA in June 2021, we are a community nonprofit club with great support inside and outside the club.
Initially set up with an under 10’s mixed team for the 2021/22 season, we later that year created an under 8’s boys’ team and an under 8’s girls’ team. The Club set up by managers formerly at Arnold Town Football Club (1 season under 7’s), and Calverton Miners Welfare Club (2 seasons under 8’s and under 9’s). After managing for 3 years and having players including their own boys playing for the team from Woodthorpe area, they toyed with the idea of creating a football club. After a lot of planning and support, they took the plunge and haven’t looked back. The interest that we have had has been phenomenal.
Our Football School for 3 – 6-year-old children has gone from strength to strength, culminating with children from there forming our new WCFC agalaxy (Under 7). We are looking for children to join the football school who would like to eventually be in a team when they reach year 2. If your child is interested in football and would like to join our friendly club, make new friends, have fun and be part of a team get in touch with Simon (Club Secretary) (07735 300294).
We are aiming to also create a new teams for all age groups for this season and when we can submit them to the relevant league.
Our coaches are FA CRB/DBS checked and either have at least FA Level 1 qualification or are working to that level.
